Renewed Hope Mega Empowerment Programme

On Monday, 23 March 2026, the Police College in Ikeja was turned into a distribution ground. Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu attended and personally handed items to beneficiaries.

The programme was designed as a one-item-per-beneficiary intervention: 2,247 verified beneficiaries and 2,247 items, from coaster buses and Hummer buses to sewing machines, deep freezers and fishing bowls.

What was handed over

The automotive fleet included two coaster buses, 50 Hummer buses, 50 Korope mini-buses, 20 Toyota Camry/Corolla cars, 50 Volkswagen Sharans, 50 cargo tricycles, 50 tricycles and 15 dispatch motorcycles.

The industrial and trade manifest included 400 deep freezers, 300 industrial sewing machines, 260 grinding machines, 200 generators, 300 fishing bowls with feeds and fingerlings, 100 popcorn machines, 50 electric cake mixers, 50 electric juice mixers, 100 electric drilling machines, 100 mechanical tools and 100 hairdryers.

The point

An empowerment programme is not measured by the size of the crowd. It is measured by whether the freezer is still running, the bus is still on the road, and the sewing machine is still producing a year later. The constituency office follows up with beneficiaries and publishes what changes.
